Lecture title: Application of Mössbauer spectroscopy to the immobilisation of radioactive and toxic wastes.
Paul Bingham joined Sheffield Hallam University in January 2012 as a Senior Lecturer in Materials Engineering and became a Reader in Materials Engineering in 2015.
He is a Course Leader for SHU’s Part-time and Full-time FdEng and BEng(Hons) degrees in Materials Engineering. He has published over 70 research papers in the fields of glasses, glass-ceramics, energy and the environment, and nuclear and toxic waste treatment.
He has also co-edited and co-authored a book on the subject of low-energy, environmentally-friendly glasses. He has a strong track record in attracting research funding from numerous funding agencies include Innovate UK, European Union, US Department of Energy, UK Research Councils and industry.
He is currently a Director of Studies for several PhD students.
