Lecture title: Iron films deposited onto anodically oxidized porous alumina.

Yasuhiro Yamada is a professor at the Department of Chemistry at Tokyo University of Science. His group is working on the synthesis and characterization of novel unstable species, clusters, and films unavailable in normal conditions.

The study of reactions of single atoms or small clusters provides useful information for understanding the mechanism of reactions on surfaces and on heterogeneous catalysts by providing simple models of larger and more complex systems.

Mössbauer spectroscopy is very useful technique to study electronic structures of iron species to provide the direct information of chemical states of the iron species.
